LAKEWOOD, Wash. - Women's volleyball traveled north to face Pierce College on Wednesday. Pierce and South Puget Sound entered the match needing a victory to improve their NWAC tournament odds. The first set was highly-contested and ended with Pierce taking it 27-25. Pierce would ride the momentum of the set one win and take the second set 25-15. Facing a sweep, the Clippers responded in the third set with great energy and forced a fourth set with a 25-23 victory. In what would be the final set of the match, the Clippers ran out of steam and fell 25-17. Despite the loss, the Clippers' tournament hopes are still alive. With three games remaining, the Clippers will need to win at least two matches, possibly three.
