PORTLAND | South Puget Sound Community College transfer, Layne Martin, is set to play volleyball for Kim Lissinna and the Warner Pacific Knights this upcoming season.
"Layne brings a lot of experience into our outside hitter group," Coach Kim Lissinna stated.
"She is very solid through the back court and will help bring some dependability to our serve receive rotations. I am thrilled to see how her leadership will help guide the future of our outside hitters," Lissinna finished.
Martin hails the State of Washington and attended high school at Ocosta High School in Westport, Washington. She was a three sport athlete playing volleyball, basketball, and track all four year. During her time playing volleyball for Ocosta, Martin racked up a few very prestigious awards. She was a four-year letter winner, league MVP, team captain, 1st team all-league, 2nd team all-league, and two-time offensive player of the year. On the basketball side of things, Martin lettered all four years and also became team captain.
After graduating from Ocosta High School, she attended South Puget Sound Community College from 2020-2023. There she continued her volleyball career, becoming MVP of the Northwest Athletic Conference Cross-Over Tournament, and was team captain.
Layne Martin majors in Child Psychology and minors in Sports Psychology. A fun fact about Martin is that she rides horses and lived on a farm while growing up.
