The SPSCC Men's Soccer team fought bravely but it was not enough as Clark comes up victorious in Vancouver by a score of 3-1 as the Clips drop to 1-2-0 in conference play.
Riding high after their 3-1 result against Pierce, the Clippers looked to carry that momentum against a tough Penguins team that was unbeaten in conference play coming into Wednesday's matchup. Unfortunately for the lads, two quick goals in the first 10 minutes from the Penguins left them stunned right from the jump. Right before the close of the first half, the Penguins managed another score to go into the break with a 3-0 lead.
The Clips put the pressure on the Clark defense and kept getting shots on goal. However, the Clark Goalkeeper, Patrick Murphy, was up for the challenge stopping all but one of the 11 shots on goal. The lone Clipper goal came in the 84th minute with Alex Canning adding yet another goal to his tally coming from a Djibril Corrielus assist.
Now, the Clippers must find a way to react to gain traction as their schedule doesn't get any easier with 2024 NWAC quarterfinalist Tacoma coming to the RAC on Wednesday, September 17, followed by another trip to Auburn to take on Highline on Saturday the 20th.
