No. 5 Clippers Open Season with Commanding Win Over No. 10 Bellevue
In a top-10 showdown to open the new season, the No. 5 SPSCC Clippers delivered a statement performance on Friday night, defeating No. 10 Bellevue 97–76 at the Olympia Orthopedics Associates Gymnasium.

The No. 5 South Puget Sound Community College men's basketball team opened the 2025-26 season in impressive fashion Friday night, defeating the No. 10 Bellevue College Bulldogs 97–76 inside the Olympia Orthopedics Gymnasium.
Facing a ranked opponent right out of the gate, the Clippers found themselves in a back-and-forth battle with the Bulldogs. SPSCC was paced by Jamaal Elliott and Abdoulie Cham in the first half as the sophomore duo combined for 22 points on 8-11 shooting, including 4-7 from downtown. Jalen Hyppa knocked down a three with 6:06 remaining in the first half to give the Clippers their first double-digit lead of the contest. The Clippers took a 16-point lead into the halftime break.
The Bulldogs opened the second half with a spirited offensive effort, cutting the Clippers' lead to single digits with 10:14 remaining in the second half. Sophomore Center Jeremiah Lewis responded with back-to-back scores in the paint to push the lead back out to 13, and the Bulldogs would never get any closer. Lewis finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists, with 10 of the 14 points coming in the second half.
In addition to the scoring from the sophomore trio, freshmen Elijah Jack Mack and Jalen Hyppa each scored in double-figures with 16 and 12, respectively.
