SPSCC and Tacoma needed all 5 sets to decide the winner of their Monday night West Region showdown, with the Titans of Tacoma claiming the victory in the end. In the second set, freshmen Jayde Grams and sophomore Abigail Green picked up huge digs in the back row, helping the Clippers front line to tally 14 kills to take the thrilling extra point set 2 victory 31-29. With the match tied at 1-1, Tacoma went on to take set three, but the Clippers were not ready for their night to end quite yet, taking the 4th set behind the swings of Janae Odom, and the blocking duo of Savrina Paul and Paige Johnson at the net giving the Tacoma hitters trouble. The Titans would take the early lead and never look back in the fifth set to secure the victory. Jayde Grams added 3 aces on top of her 18 digs, Abigail Green contributed 12 digs, and Paul and Johnson added 2 and 4 blocks respectively. On the offensive end for the Clippers Janae Odom continued to rack up the kills tallying 12 kills along with her 19 digs, thanks to the 36 assists from setter Sydney Miller. The Clippers return to action Wednesday as they travel to Pierce College for a 7pm match.
