The Clipper Men's Soccer program has been busy over the last month recruiting and building a new class for the 2018 season. The Clippers have signed midfielder Samuel Monterrosas and Goalkeeper Andy Aguirre, both from Franklin High School in Seattle, Washington. Monterrosas and Aguirre were both standout players for their club teams at Seattle United.
"Sammy and Andy have immense potential, I have a lot of confidence in both their abilities on and off the field. One of their biggest attributes is their work ethic. They both know the importance of making the most of their opportunities and both are very eager to make the most of their student-athlete experience at South Puget Sound. I have known and worked with them for the last couple years. They have bright futures ahead of them. Sammy has an amazing engine and works extremely hard up and down the field. Andy has incredible reactions and makes difficult saves look effortless. He is very comfortable playing out of the back and will be a calm presence in defense," said new Clipper Head Soccer Coach Juan P. Murillo.
Monterrosas and Aguirre are some of the first signings to the incoming freshmen class of 2018. "I am very excited to sign both of these student-athletes, they will be a great addition to the soccer culture we are trying to create at SPSCC," said Coach Murillo.
